The stress of staying inside

Social connections are so important and being away from each other is taking a toll. Kids are used to seeing other kids each day. We are used to going to work, running our errands, going to the gym, going to church, taking our kids to various practices, getting together with our friends for dinner, etc.

Everything is different. While we think this is a time for us to slow down and enjoy family time, we aren't really getting the same benefits as normal unplugging from hectic lives to restore ourselves. We can't go out to eat, get our nails done, go to the park, or other personal fun adventures.

I like to take time between the students I see and do something mindless like watching glitter in a wand settle to the bottom, or feeling sand. This helps me be able to clear my mind to focus on each student fully. I hope that as we return to work, we take advantage of allowing ourselves these intermittent moments throughout the day.
